Grieg Seafood BC Ltd., a dynamic and growing company in the Aquaculture industry, is seeking to hire a temporary Project Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator for a period of two years at our head office in Campbell River, BC.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate the safety requirements of various projects in compliance with provincial Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Conduct assessments, make recommendations, and assist HR manager in coaching, mentoring, and implementing the 2 years Safety Excellence Project.
Create and maintain documents such as SOPs, work procedures and training documents.
Investigate and report incidents in a timely manner; ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
Support the Return to Work Program and claims management.
Develop Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) based on audits.
Attend and monitor the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings.
Certificate or diploma from an accredited Health & Safety program and/or 2-3 years Occupational Health and Safety experience in BC
Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act of British Columbia
Experience analyzing large quantities of information, developing multiple
solutions to difficult problems, and making sound decisions
Experience preparing and implementing new or updated policies and procedures
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desire to be hands on and “on the floor”
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
