We are seeking experienced Green Chain Labourers for our Sawmill based in Chilliwack, BC. Roles will involve: trimming, grading, end sealing, packaging, lumber piling, and general green chain operations. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of safety and operating procedures in the sawmill and logging industry. We are looking for strong team players with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ledcor Resources & Transportation combines our trucking, marine, and forestry operations to offer integrated supply chain services to British Columbia’s forestry and bioenergy industry. We produce and deliver biofuel, wood chips, and kraft pulp by land and by sea.

Responsibilities

• Sort lumber manually in green chain
• Grade/trim lumber in specific position
• Extensive and repetitive heavy lifting and physical labour
• Apply end seals to the ends of finished products
• Overall tasks related to sawmill production and clean-up
• May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous green chain experience in a sawmill or reman required
• Basic knowledge of lumber grades and species considered an asset
• Experience in sorting lumber manually
• In good physical condition suited for repetitious lifting
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
• Must successfully meet pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements

Work Conditions

• Day and night shifts as well as weekends are required
• Working outdoors in various conditions of weather
