The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization serving approximately 1000 members. Our mission is to be the Voice of Business to promote and improve trade and commerce, and the economic, civic and social welfare of the District, Langley City, Langley Township and the Community at Large.

We are seeking anEvents and Communications Coordinator for a 16-month full time contract position to cover Maternity Leave. Under the direction of the Chamber Executive Director, the Events and Communications Coordinator serves as a key liaison to the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce’s business and community members.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and managing all Communications from the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce
  • The incumbent will have significant responsibility for planning and execution of approx. 75 events annually
  • Sponsorship management and promotion
  • Committee management
  • Social media content and scheduling

Applicants will require the following qualifications:

  • Experience planning and organizing events.
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills for multiple requirements; social media, columns, newsletters, member mailings
  • Ability to deliver creative content
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms and experience creating a variety of social media marketing campaigns
  • Experience in creation and management of communications calendar for organization
  • Experience with Constant Contact and ability to grasp new media trends and learn new programs quickly
  • Database management
  • Website management experience
  • Able to motivate and lead individuals and groups and can work effectively with staff and volunteers
  • Detail oriented and organized, able to manage multiple priorities, take responsibility for timely and accurate completion of tasks assigned
  • Have initiative and stamina; possess a high level of standards
  • Able to stay on budget
  • Relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of five years professional experience
