Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is a multi-jurisdictional gaming, entertainment and hospitality operator. After welcoming Shorelines Casinos to our company, we will have 19 gaming facilities, from BC to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Washington State, and now in Eastern Ontario. These properties include 15 casinos, four horse racetrack casinos, two 1000+ seat theaters that feature world class entertainment, two Four Diamond hotels, an award winning resort that features two hotels and over 30 food and beverage outlets.

Great Canadian is looking for our next GREAT colleague to join us as our Project Manager, Construction & Property Development.

Under the general direction of the Project Director, this position is responsible for completing projects of all sizes related to all phases of development and construction, including project budgeting, project and construction scheduling, proposal work, and coordination among architects, internal stakeholders, consultants, regulatory bodies, and contractors. The candidate will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

You can expect to apply your skills and qualifications through the following key accountabilities:

  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments at a senior and executive level
  • Meets with local (city) jurisdiction regarding project scope, cost, and servicing agreements
  • Develops renovation project plans, including schedules, construction budget, FF&E and soft costs, ensuring cost and time effectiveness
  • Coordinate and execute an efficient project plan; leveraging former lessons learned and project artifacts and own enhancements
  • Oversees the performance of all trade contractors, reviewing architectural and engineering drawings (hard copies & AutoCAD format), ensuring all specifications and regulations are adhered to
  • Monitors and manages development project risks.
  • Assists the consultant team regarding design and owner input
  • Documents, controls and tracks appropriate administrative records of construction contracts and obtains all necessary permits and licenses
  • Tracks and controls construction schedule and costs to achieve completion within time and budget, and takes corrective action as required
  • Provides regular weekly and monthly progress reports as required
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, vendors, trades and employees
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Coordinates with gaming corporations and gaming authorities as it relates to project work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
  • Completes formal project close/lessons learned process

  • Post-Secondary education in project management and construction management, architectural building technology or suitable combination of education and experience. Must have a sound technical understanding of building systems and structures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate numerous internal & external resources
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; MS project; AutoCAD required
  • Construction and design experience in casinos, hotels and restaurants (i.e. commercial & institutional) required
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and ability to work non-traditional work hours.
