New and exciting things are in the works! We are currently looking for an individual to join the team in the position of Human Resources Advisor at our Great Canadian Business Centre. Please note this is a 13 month contract position.

The successful individual will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery and quality support of Human Resources services at the Great Canadian Business Centre, including assisting with recruitment, onboarding & training, coordinating employee requests and changes, data entry, processing documentation and providing general Human Resources support. The incumbent will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

You can expect to apply your Human Resources knowledge and expertise through the following key accountabilities:

Facilitates full-cycle recruitment for Corporate positions, including but not limited to; creating and maintaining internal and external job postings, pre-screening candidates, conducting reference checks, conducting interviews, preparing and delivering letters of employment.

Prepares welcome, promotion and departure announcements for Corporate employees.

Facilitates Corporate employee on-boarding.

Coordinates security clearance for Corporate office team members (GPEB or criminal record checks); ensures the timeliness and completeness of applications and renewals.

Prepares letters and other documentation for Corporate team members (such as confirmation of employment letters).

Updates and maintains Corporate organizational charts using Microsoft Visio.

Prepares other monthly Human Resources reports such as Birthday/Anniversary announcements.

Processes Human Resources paperwork and performs data entry activities.

May prepare Leave of Absence documentation for Corporate team members; maintains Leave of Absence files (such as; medical leave, long term disability, WorkSafe BC, ICBC, bereavement, maternity, etc.), including the return to work program and processes.

Supports the preparation and maintenance of voluntary termination paperwork in accordance with Company policy and applicable legislation.

Coordinates the quarterly GEM program for the Corporate office; participates as a lead member of the Corporate office GEM Selection committee.

Actively participates in the FUN committee to encourage staff engagement and participation.

Actively participates in the Occupational Health & Safety committee.

May reconcile and audit employee records and reports to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Responds to requests for information regarding internal and external Human Resources inquires.

Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments.

Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders.

Post-Secondary education in Human Resources along with a CPHR designation is preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional level Human Resources role; recruitment experience an asset; or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service-oriented communication.

Detail oriented with the ability to multitask.

Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.

Computer literacy in MS Office; including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Human Resources Information systems such as JD Edwards and Applicant Tracking systems experience an asset.

The ability to successfully obtain a criminal & background record check.
