Opened in September 2005, the MacEwan Residence is located at the City Center Campus and houses nearly 900 students in a variety of bachelor, 2 bedroom and 4 bedroom suite-style units.
Opportunity
The Department of Residence Services is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant III. The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for administrative support, data entry and office staff support. Specific duties include preparation of correspondence, report compilation, assisting with management of department records, processing applications for residence, processing cancellations to the Residence prior to move in, assisting with key inventory, assisting with preparation of reports and assisting with student account related matters. Other duties include general office duties, supporting the front desk operation as needed, responding to customers, suppliers and stakeholder’s calls and providing basic information about the department to other University areas and stakeholders.
Skills
The successful incumbent will have excellent communication skills, good organizational and prioritization skills as well as exemplary customer service skills. Applicants must also have the ability to work independently, complete work in an accurate and thorough manner while paying attention to detail, maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a professional, service oriented and tactful manner. The successful applicant will be a team player who can work flexible and varied hours. Applicants also need to have working knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Access and Excel. Working Knowledge of StarRez would be an asset.
Qualifications
Interested applicants should have a post-secondary secretarial or office administration certificate or diploma as well as a minimum of 2 years office experience. Experience in a customer service setting, particularly a post-secondary housing environment, would be an asset. Equivalencies may be considered.
Position Requirements
Successful candidate should be able to work flexible and varied hours and must work occasional weekends (3-4 times per year).
