The Position

We are looking for a detail oriented and organized professional willing to develop his/her career. In a team oriented environment, the Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage receiving orders, managing food and beverage goods and services inventory and liaising with other stakeholders with respect to the goods and services for Food and Beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives goods and supplies and maintains inventory of all goods purchased and store on the premises plus all operating equipment such as china, glassware, linen and flatware
  • Implements ordering and delivery schedules in accordance with corporate structure and preferred suppliers
  • Prepares and submits month-end inventory reports and takes part in counts.
  • Provides daily reports of invoice activity and forwards to Accounting, all payables and credits
  • Confers with the food and beverage management team and communicates with Chefs daily on pricing, inventory requirements, and suppliers.
  • Maintains a purchase order system and receiving log of goods entering the building, and files reports as required.
  • Assists in resolving disputes and discrepancies regarding orders and inventory.
  • Ensures rotation of goods to avoid spoilage and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Controls the issuing of food and beverages by maintaining a proper requisition system
  • Ensures that fridges and freezers in warehouse storage areas are at correct temperatures
  • Ensures that food, beverage and supplies are adequately secured to reduce the possibility of theft
  • Assists in resolving disputes and discrepancies regarding orders and inventory
  • Retains a thorough and updated knowledge of company policies and procedures, provincial and local regulations for food and beverage and casino operations. Liaises with government regulators that impact the operation of the department.
  • Oversees the human resources issues, performance, safety and recruitment needs of the maintenance team. Manages the performance of direct reports including: training, appraising performance, providing positive and corrective feedback, coaching, and administering discipline as per the collective agreement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • What You’ll Require

    • 5 years warehouse and receiving experience preferred
    • Purchasing Management Association of Canada courses desirable
    • Experience with inventory control
    • Experience with purchasing/receiving systems and software an asset
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proven experience in negotiating with suppliers
    • Adept at Internet supplier and product searches and the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to work with purchasing systems and software
    • Proven leadership skills – able to direct and supervise staff
    • Excellent problem solving skills
    • Self-motivated and able to multi-task
    • Demonstrates and promotes teamwork
    • May on occasion be required to lift, pull and carry objects up to 50 pounds
