The Regional Support unit provides desk side support using a regionalized delivery and support model. Calls for assistance that cannot be dealt with remotely are escalated to this area for resolution. The ITD Regional Support unit provides advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution of hardware problems and software configuration issues for approximately 12,000 clients in an Enterprise network.

Reporting to the Manager of Regional Support, you must ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to perform on-site advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis for escalated incidents involving desktop software, hardware, operating systems and applications. In this role workload management is critical, while

ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved

.

The knowledge of Active Directory; Microsoft Exchange; INTEL-based desktop hardware; Microsoft Windows operating systems; Microsoft Office suite of productivity applications; mobile/tablet devices; print technologies; and an advanced understanding of data communications hardware, software and networking protocols with an emphasis on TCP/IP is desired. This position also requires experience in the support and maintenance of client/server based applications, anti-virus/malware software and other security related products. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate skill in advanced troubleshooting and problem solving.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position are obtained

through a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, supplemented with related supervision experience.
