The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is seeking two highly motivated and organized individuals to join the Programs Branch as Program Officers. The positions are two-year term opportunities, working less than full-time hours.
Using your knowledge of agricultural production practices and the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, you will work on multiple programs designed to support sustainability and growth in the agriculture industry.
Along with an innovative nature and attention to detail, you will use various methods to evaluate and analyze applications as well as claims and make decisions on eligibility.
The position will be responsible for ensuring that applicants have complied with all program requirements and the ideal candidate will have experience with outcomes-based program delivery.
Our candidates of choice will demonstrate excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, etc.) and experience in a Microsoft Dynamics-based CRM, or equivalent. You will also have the ability to interpret and explain guidelines; both verbally and in writing in order to apply the Acts, regulations, policies and procedures to agricultural producers and stakeholders. You will be able to work both independently and as a team member with colleagues, agencies and others, to meet program and client needs.
The knowledge and experience required for this position is typically obtained through a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business Administration or a related field, or several years of work experience in a similar capacity.
