The Revenue Division of the Ministry of Finance is Saskatchewan’s primary tax collection agency. The Division is responsible for the administration of several tax programs including the Provincial Sales Tax, Liquor Consumption Tax, Fuel Tax, Tobacco Tax and Corporation Capital Tax.

A confident individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and knowledge of accounting and auditing principles is required to fill a challenging and rewarding position in the Yorkton Office. If you are currently working in an accounting environment and are looking for an opportunity that offers career growth or are a recent Graduate from post-secondary studies in the field of Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration with limited work experience, then this opportunity could be for you.

Working within a team of audit professionals this position conducts Audits on provincial and inter-provincial businesses to ensure compliance with various provincial tax statutes. This involves examining business records, performing audit tests, compiling audit findings, preparing oral and written audit reports, and presenting audit findings in a professional manner. As a Business Auditor working in the Audit Branch, approximately 6-9 weeks of your time will involve overnight, out of town travel in order to complete field audits within and outside of Saskatchewan.

To succeed in this position you will be detail oriented, analytical and an individual that thrives on applying initiatives. You will have an understanding of business records in order to determine tax liabilities, you will be able to interpret and apply legislation, and you will have strong communication skills in order to provide explanations to taxpayers and gain acceptance of findings from audits, investigations, compliance or outreach activities.

The knowledge and abilities required would typically be obtained through the completion of an Accounting Diploma or Business Degree, supplemented with relevant work experience.
