An exciting and challenging opportunity exists within the Crops and Irrigation Branch, Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture to provide technical support in the implementation of the provincial irrigation strategy.
This position is responsible to
provide surveying and drafting technical support for the province’s irrigation programs.
This includes
assisting with the planning, design, construction, and inspection of new and/or rehabilitated irrigation projects. The successful candidate will have knowledge of conventional, electronic and GPS surveying; air-photo interpretation; drafting using computer programs such as ArcView and AutoCAD; irrigation methods and equipment; and, construction methods and materials. The successful candidate will have the ability to collect and manipulate data utilizing engineering software programs.
The knowledge required for this position would typically be achieved through a diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Water Resources Engineering Technology, with industry experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians.
