The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is the provincial system that gathers information about homeless Albertans. Demographic, social, and geographic data about participants enrolled in Housing First programs and shelters are entered into the system to support case management and program delivery, as well as provide aggregate-level data analysis. Information gathered through HMIS enables Human Services, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and Service Providers to respond appropriately to the needs of homeless Albertans.
Reporting to the Manager of Program Data Management & Reporting Branch, the System Administrator will develop recommendations on and implement HMIS enhancements to accommodate the needs of agencies. The System Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that all independent systems are mapping into the provincial community portal, as well as for providing direct end user application support and troubleshooting support. The Systems Administrator will provide support to projects relating to the implementation of HMIS in all emergency shelters and Housing First agencies across Alberta.

You will possess effective and persuasive communication skills (written and verbal), and strong organizational skills. University graduation in a related field (Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Computer Technology, Management Information Systems) is required. Two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience in database administration, troubleshooting and reporting, issues analysis and project management of IT systems is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint( is essential. Knowledge of VBA Macros and SQL programming for developing specialized reports and troubleshooting problems with system functions is required. Experience working with case management software and homelessness-related policy issues is deemed to be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,259.36 – $2,963.75 bi-weekly
