Government of Alberta Support and Financial Services Coordinator(PS1) Temp position – October 2018 Full Time in Red Deer, AB

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining ongoing eligibility for income support, and issuing appropriate financial benefits. This role is also responsible for monitoring client progress as they move toward self-sufficiency. Other responsibilities include; advising clients of their rights, income support benefit entitlements and responsibilities; providing referrals and information to access employment and training services, finances, labor market information and community resources.

You will be expected to utilize problem-solving techniques to connect individuals with appropriate intervention resources and liaise with other department staff and community agencies to promote client independence.

The ideal candidate will exercise professionalism, initiative, excellent communication skills, and solid decision making ability along with a positive attitude. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to meet deadlines are necessary to succeed in this position. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.

Two-year diploma in the social science field is preferred; no experience required. Recent related work experience with social based programs as well as experience in a customer service environment would be considered an asset. Related experience with the Income Support Program, financial analysis, career planning
process and labor market information are assets. Current and/or previous Government of Alberta experience will be considered an asset.

$2,086.07 – $2,711.74 biweekly
