About Us

The Government of Alberta is transforming the way we offer social-based assistance to clients. If you love interacting with people face-to-face, then we’re looking for you!

A successful society is defined by its people and the opportunities available for them to fully and actively participate in all aspects of life and provide for their families. Human Services works to foster a society in which families are secure and resilient, individuals have safe, sustainable employment, vulnerable Albertans have the supports they require, and no one is left behind. You can be part of helping us make a difference!

The Services Coordinator position responds to public inquiries regarding programs and services offered by the Ministry of Human Services and select Health programs. As the Services Coordinator, you must determine the needs of the client and then determine if a possible program or service is available to assist. As the first point of contact with Albertans accessing social-based programs and services, you are relied upon to engage positively with Albertans, create a welcoming and respectful environment, and effectively represent Alberta Human Services’ programs and services.

Working with minimal supervision, you will be required to respond directly to Albertans on a wide variety of inquiries. Your strong communication, client service, and interpersonal skills will ensure that clients receive a comprehensive service experience. You must keep up to date with current program information and parameters, and use problem solving skills to connect the caller to the appropriate subject matter expert.

In this role, you will deal directly with clients and have the ability to assist them and positively impact their lives immediately. If you have a passion for helping others, then we want to hear from you!

A related post-secondary diploma is required. Post-secondary education in the social sciences would be preferred. Recent related work experience with social based programs as well as experience in a customer service environment would be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.

$2,035.19 – $2,645.60 Bi-weekly ($53,118 to $69,050 annually)

This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification level across the Government of Alberta. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
