Are you looking for an opportunity to play a critical role accountable for the successful delivery of IT applications and technical services for internal and external Alberta Transportation users?
Alberta Transportation is seeking an individual to work as a Service Request Analyst (SRA). Reporting to the Team Lead, the SRA position works with business areas to understand, plan, and facilitate the delivery of requested IS services by providing instruction to, and monitoring of, the status of services requested of Service Providers (i.e. Service Alberta and/or Private Sector) on behalf of ministry staff. The SRA acts as a formal bridge between Ministry staff, the GOA Consolidated Service Desk (CSD), and various Ministry application and support teams. This position also assists determining the hardware and software requirements for the end user community (IT assistance). The identification of service delivery process requirements and improvements in the Ministry, and the identification of service delivery requirements and improvements of the unit. The SRA has a key role in implementing and monitoring information technology standards, guidelines, and practices for the Ministry. The position also plays a rotational role in Incident Management.
Your primary duties will include:
– Identify options and recommendation for the purchase hardware of software for the ministry in the alignment to existing ministry and GOA purchasing requirements and business needs.
– Respond to a variety of IT service needs for the ministry in alignment with ministry and GOA requirements and timelines.
Qualifications
University graduation in a computer related field, equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The successful candidate must have a solid foundational knowledge of computer science concepts and methodologies (infrastructure, programming, network and mainframe products, and systems management), and a general understanding of ministry and GOA IT policies and programs.
The ability to work well in a team environment and independently, take direction and work within deadline constraints is essential. Strong communication skills are essential to explain IT concepts, seek clarification and consult with stakeholders.
The successful candidate must also be well organized, have a good eye for detail, have strong problem solving and analytical skills, and excellent customer service and relationship skills.

Salary
$ 2,161.37 – $ 3,241.54 bi-weekly (approximately $56,412 – $84,604 annually)
