The Edmonton Region is currently working on a Regional Employment Strategy that will ultimately connect Employers with AB Supports Clients who are looking to enter or re-enter the workforce.
In this newly created role, you will:
- Be a key player in rolling out our Regional Employment Strategy to internal staff, employers and other stakeholders within the region.
- Create and champion a central hub for employers and stakeholders.
- Be a contributing member of the Edmonton Region employment working group.
- Assess employment opportunities and needs while identifying labour market trends to support outcomes for targeted groups.
- Research, implement and evaluate the use of new and innovative technology that will aid staff and employers to have the information needed to take advantage of employment initiatives within the region.
As the successful candidate, you will bring a creative and comprehensive understanding of how to develop, maintain, and synthesize information to effectively communicate key strategies and outcomes to a large network of internal and external stakeholders through a variety of Microsoft programs, social media venues, and communication formats. Your strong organizational skills will support your ability to gather accurate and timely information from a variety of resources while thriving towards high quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will have a working knowledge of labour market information and trends, and have an understanding of how employment programs are utilized throughout the Edmonton Region. You will utilize your creative problem solving skills by developing new ways to effectively use social media and technology programs to produce efficiencies.

Creative Problem Solving: Candidates will need to be willing to look for new ways to achieve outcomes and solutions, and have the skills to take calculated risks and think outside the box.
Systems Thinking: It is important to know how the work done within Edmonton region is integrated with other Community and Social Services programs within the region and with other GOA ministries.
Building Networks: As we continue to move towards our Citizen Centered approach, candidates will need to build networks and work with external and internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
Drive for Results: Working in a busy environment means you will be managing many competing priorities. It will be important that you are able to effectively prioritize and multi-task in order to succeed in achieving results.
University graduation in a related field plus two (2) years progressively responsible experience is required. Experience developing written communication and information sharing technology is considered an asset. Experience with adult education is preferred.
An equivalent of education and experience which includes as a minimum, completion of a related diploma, will be considered.
$2,588.03 – $3,394.66 bi-weekly
