The Carrier Services Section is responsible for a multi-disciplinary program related to managing commercial carrier safety and compliance. Within Carrier Services there are two units; National Safety Code/Operating Authority unit and Compliance unit.

The Process Clerk reports to the National Safety Code/Operating Authority Administrator and you will be responsible for reviewing, processing and issuing Operating Authority Certificates, Safety Fitness Certificates, special permits and assisting in the monitoring of carrier performance.

Successful candidates will have a good working knowledge of Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe. You will need to have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented to review and manage information on the Department’s data information systems. Your effective communication skills will assist you when dealing with questions from carrier companies, drivers, and members of the public. These positions will require an ability to work independently with a steady workload, while being an effective member of the team.


High school Diploma and 2 years related administrative experience in an office environment, including experience working directly with the public. Experience working in a regulatory or transportation environment and in a computerized database environment will be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.


$1,650.19 – $2,016.24 bi-weekly ($43,070 to $52,624 annually)


Candidates with lesser experience may be considered at a lower classification and salary level.
