As the Manager, Health System Planning you will lead and manage health system planning activities, including stakeholder engagement with Alberta Health Services and other health system partners to to identify strengths, opportunities and gaps in the health system and to engage in planning activities that consider the health and health needs of Albertans now and in the future,various health service delivery models, infrastructure and health human resources forecasting.

As the ideal candidate you will employ competencies in systems thinking, developing collaborative environments, innovative and creative problem solving and results orientation to:

-Guide a team of professional staff in long range health system planning activities and methodologies across all sectors including development of service planning guidelines and ensuring alignment with Ministry and Government of Alberta priorities, such as the shift to community based care;

-Oversee the development and management of the health system planning cycle and framework that aligns with Ministry and Government planning and budgeting planning requirements and cycles;

-Collaborate with unit and division colleagues to ensure the health standards, evidence based practices and access and quality initiatives are incorporating into health system planning; and

-Work with Strategic Clinical Networks, ministry working groups and other stakeholders to share information about activities and outcomes to support health system planning.

Qualifications

A University degree (Masters preferred) in clinical or social sciences, business administration, public administration, health administration, law or other related field, plus a minimum of 4 years progressively responsible related experience with health services planning and policy development is required. Equivalencies will be considered. Experience working on projects for quality/business improvement and implementing change is also required. Experience working with stakeholders is essential. Management or supervisory experience is preferred. Experience working directly in the area of health human resource planning is an asset. Experience working with government structures and processes, and related health legislation would also be considered an asset.

Salary

$3,062.51 to $4,121.25 bi-weekly ($79,931 – $107,564 per annum)

Notes

This is a permanent full time position. Final candidates for this position will be required to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification and salary level.
