As a Maintenance Service Worker working 40 hours per week, you will be working in a team environment at the Spyhills Correctional Facilities (Calgary Correctional Centre, Calgary Remand Centre and Calgary Young Offenders Centre). You will assist with the safe, effective and efficient operation and maintenance of the facilities by performing a range of general maintenance jobs, such as, moving and repairing furnishings, repairing equipment and snow removal. You will also support the trades with duties such as, hand power tool-work and also ordering material and supplies. You will be supporting contractors through explaining the job requirements and providing guidance as needed on the completion of jobs. You may also be required to collaborate with clients for the purpose of providing or receiving routine information related with their requirements.
The successful candidate will be technically experienced, have good computer skills, be fully competent and be able to look beyond the immediate to identify and trouble shoot possible problems. You will be able to perform independently while working within an overall team structure. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and discreetly in a sensitive environment.

Qualifications
A high School diploma and a minimum of 1 year of directly related experience operating and maintaining building equipment and general facility maintenance is required.
Ability to work in a correctional facility.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is considered an asset.
Salary
$ 1,801.86 – $2,184.20 Bi-weekly ($45,881 – $55617 per annum)
Notes
– Final candidates will be required to undergo security screening.
– This competition may be used to fill future vacancies across the province.
– Candidates must be physically able to perform the manual duties of this position
