The Public Service Commission is advancing a human resource system that will foster an agile, productive and healthy workforce that serves Alberta today and into the future.

As a critical player in this transformation, you will inspire innovation and excellence in leading a consolidated HR system in the key areas of labour and employment policy, employee relations, classification, compensation, benefits, wellness, and health and safety. Reporting to the Deputy Minister, and collaborating closely with partners across the system, you will provide strategic direction toward new models of service delivery and champion bold approaches that are client-centered, responsive and solution-focused. Your strengths in building high performing teams, partnerships and an inspiring work environment will be essential qualities in contributing to our vision of one government, one employer, and one HR.

An accomplished and agile leader, your background includes extensive related executive management experience in a large, service oriented organization. You have demonstrated expertise in applying a systems focus to achieving results in both program and policy arenas, and are recognized for your skill in collaborating with multiple stakeholders on complex issues. Able to articulate a compelling vision and lead change, you have established a leadership record that reflects your commitment to staff engagement and a positive work culture. Your broad knowledge of human resource practices will support your success in this role. A degree in a related field is preferred.


This Executive Manager position offers a salary range of $153,289 – $201,175 ($5,873.18 – $7,707.88 bi-weekly). Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
