RESEARCHER
(Contract up to 6 months)

As a Researcher, you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts research, collects and compiles information related to the creation of documents that support the development and implementation of projects along with the operating policies required for a steady state organization as well as its strategic direction
Performs basic analysis to prepare information for reports and drafts presentations on areas related to the business unit
Assesses and updates research and resource requirements to help refine study designs, terms of reference and procedural methods to address issues impacting on project objectives
Identifies data requirements for research and analysis including determining the most appropriate data sources (e.g. internal and external partners, policy papers, external studies, and internet searches) and modelling techniques to facilitate data gathering and analysis
Prepares reports ensuring collected information is accurate, valid and consistent with relevant guidelines
Drafts correspondence and presentations to support projects
Participates in transportation projects by providing research, data gathering and report writing assistance to external contractors assigned to various components of the projects
Participates as a cross-divisional team member to support multi-faceted projects and studies by preparing correspondence and other materials

Qualifications :
Completion of a diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of experience conducting research and analysis for policy/program development, preferably within the public sector and / or a public transportation context
Experience collecting and compiling information related to the development of documents that support that support the development and implementation of projects
Experience drafting correspondence and presentations to support projects
Knowledge of standard Microsoft office applications
