We are currently expanding and hiring a Logistics Coordinator for our office in Laval, QC.

The position covers various aspects of city dispatching including route planning, booking loads, communicating with drivers, customers and office manager.

Duties:

• Plan, Coordinate and monitor shipments.
• Find loads on the load link.
• Successfully plan and schedule drivers, truck loads and routes.
• Constantly update Fleet Manager with drivers and trips.
• Communicate specific freight requirements and procedures to drivers.
• Effectively negotiate rates with customers to achieve a profitable margin.
• Handle customer inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
• Update customer web portals with up-to-date load information.
• Call customers to advise shipment delays and/or information necessary to process orders, border crossings, and receipt of custom documents for clearance.
• Monitor and update shipment statuses on the company’s internal applications.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication. English and French
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize tasks as per importance.
• Minimum of 2 years’ of previous experience working as a dispatcher, logistics coordinator or transportation customer service role is a definite asset.
• Positive attitude with good people skills.
• Good command of MS Office with an ability to quickly learn new dispatch software
