Are you an experienced finance and accounting expert seeking an opportunity to work with a dynamic service organization? The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day to day financial operations of the organization and will work closely with our incredible staff and management team. Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you as you engage in your daily tasks. Working closely with and under the supervision of the General Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible to:

  • Administer financial policies and procedures related to the requirements of the Employment Program of BC and maintain an infrastructure that ensures the financial integrity of the organization
  • Review and monitor financial supports and billings in the Integrated Case Management (ICM) system and the Contract and Financial Management System (CFMS) to ensure accuracy, accountability and quality assurance standards are being met as defined by the Ministry.
  • Develop and maintain efficient and systematic accounts receivable/payable procedures for entering, coding, processing and posting transactions
  • Pay and prepare invoices as required; follow up with reminders and telephone calls related to late or delinquent payments
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year end statistical and financial reports as required by contract obligations.
  • Prepare accurate statements of cash flow as required
  • Be responsible for budgeting, financial analysis and forecast reporting as required
  • Oversee and provide direct support to the Finance Clerk in all aspects of payroll and benefit administration
  • Provide monthly financial report to the Global Advisory Board.
  • Work as needed with our Accountant and Auditor.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Work closely with Management on organizational policy and processes to ensure the team is operating efficiently, accountably and achieving contract objectives.
  • Attend CREST Finance meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • 2 year accounting diploma or equivalent; plus
  • 2-3 years experience in financial accounting
  • Demonstrated experience and excellent knowledge of Simply Accounting
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong technological skills, including above average proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with ICM/CFMS, or in the employment services industry would be considered a major asset.
  • Equivalent experience, skills and education/training may be considered.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Criminal Record Check – including vulnerable persons.

Salary: $30.00 /hour
