The Energy Projects Coordinator will be assisting the
Energy Manager and Facilities Manager with the
coordination and implementation of projects that lead to
energy savings across all Giant Tiger Stores.

  • Assist with the tracking of utility energy


  • Assist with the verification of energy savings for

completed projects;

  • Assist with the assessment and recommendation of

energy-saving opportunity projects, including both
capital improvement projects and operational and
maintenance changes;

  • Coordinate the implementation of energy-saving

projects, including the planning, budgeting, and
scheduling for the design, installation,
commissioning, and verification of energy efficiency

  • Maximize all potential retrofit credits from various

government programs;

  • Coordinate and assist with site inspections with the

Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and
others as required from time to time;

  • Assist the Facilities Manager with day-to-day tasks

such as preparation and management of contracts,
assisting stores with equipment issues, maintaining
an accurate database of store equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Post Secondary education in

building science, engineering or in a related field;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in


  • Proficiency with MS Office, with advanced Excel


  • Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and


  • Working knowledge of lighting technologies;
  • Working knowledge of HVAC technologies;
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Attention to detail and strong problem solving


  • Strong organizational skills;
  • French will be considered an asset.
