Gerdau is currently seeking candidates for an Internship Opportunity within several locations

Overview:
Gerdau’s Internship Program provides an exciting and educational opportunity in which students can experience the steel industry through meaningful and challenging work assignments and projects. Interns will receive on-the-job experience, organization orientation, and documented work assignments and projects that provide clear and targeted goals.

Qualifications include:
Candidates are required to be in the process of completing a degree in the specified field from a recognized accredited college or university. Sophomore, Junior or Senior year candidates.

Candidates must be able to work from approximately May – August, 2015, for 40 hours a week, but will vary depending on school schedule.

Candidates must demonstrate leadership potential.

Initiative and problem-solving skills

Candidates will be expected to play an active role, ask questions, recommend improvements

Complete an end-of-term report summarizing their experiences while at Gerdau

Position and Physical Demands:
Candidate must possess proficiency in general equipment and software required for the role.

Some positions may require working in an industrial setting, which can occasionally include noise, dust, physical activity and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Candidates must adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.

Candidates will be working under direct supervision, but may have periods of autonomy and must be able to work independently.
