THIS IS A CONTRACT (PART-TIME) POSITION. This position is reviewed annually. Reporting to the Campus Principal, Midland Campus, the incumbent performs a wide variety of duties to ensure the successful delivery of the College and Career Preparation, Academic Upgrading, and Pathways programs on the Midland Campus. This includes initiating student intake and assessment, monitoring monthly activities and budgets, providing support to students, staff and faculty within the program, and liaising with external referral agencies / community partners. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities

Meeting with incoming and prospective students to provide information and referrals (where appropriate) and administer initial assessments using a variety of testing tools
Assessing students suitability for the program based on the assessment results, develops individual training plans, and advise students on the outcome and course of action to follow
Analyzing monthly reports ensuring data integrity and monitoring information and referral, training plan development, and follow up to ensure ministry targets are met
Preparing reports and business plans (i.e. Ministry Business Plan and quarterly reports, Literacy Service Plan, Work Plan with Literacy Partners, etc.), and writing proposals
Monitoring budgets ensuring appropriate disbursing of funds and advising manager of opportunities or constraints
Providing support to students within the programs by: authorizing student transfers, extensions, exceptions to ministry guidelines, and support allowance /withdrawals; providing student orientations; monitoring student records, attendance, and progress; and liaising with faculty, college staff or other agencies to help resolve student issues
Providing support to staff within the programs by: assisting with the non-full-time faculty hiring process; providing program orientation; organizing staff meetings; and coordinating faculty evaluation processes
Liaising with community partners and agencies to promote / market our programs and solicit opportunities

Qualifications

Successfully completed a two year postsecondary diploma in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to social sciences, office or business administration
Three years’ experience providing intake / assessment services to individuals
Experience supporting an academic program area
Experience monitoring activities against targets
Experience tracking expenditures and monitoring budgets
Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), databases, and a student information system (preferably Banner)
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and customer service skills
Excellent written skills with the demonstrated ability to write proposals and reports
Organization, planning and coordination skills to handle multiple priorities
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Experience with MTCU databases such as IMS and EOIS-Cams would be an asset
