To this day, the company still continues to manufacture its famous confections in the town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong continues to grow in the fast paced & competitive world of food manufacturing.

Position Summary

As part of the Supply Chain team, this position involves the procurement of production raw materials, supplies and inbound logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage supplier relationships
  • Review Product Activity for requirements (daily & monthly basis)
  • Provide demand forecasts
  • Post, submit and manage purchase orders
  • Consult with other departments such as planning, contract managers and finance
  • Inbound freight co-ordination (LTL & full loads)
  • Setup new product SKUs
  • Cost comparison analysis
  • Setup and maintain standard costs
  • Champion cost saving initiatives
  • Collect SQF documentation for new SKUs
  • Manage commodity contract draws and balances
  • Cross-train for packaging purchaser
  • Product development (source, approval process, lead time)

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Education in business/commerce
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Purchasing role (preference to Food Manufacturing Sector)
  • Commodity purchasing experience is an asset
  • Logistics experience is an asset
