The Recruitming Specialist is responsible for all aspects of recruiting: identifying, qualifying, sourcing, interviewing, negotiating compensation, reference verification as well as hiring. Working hand in hand with the departmental hiring manager, the Recruitment Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all candidates presented meet the required criteria to perform the specific job duties. The Recruitment Specialist may also work on ad-hoc projects as required.
-Sourcing quality candidates using a variety of internal and external resources.
-Candidate selection and assessment through initial telephone screenings and interviewing (evaluation of skills, knowledge and experience: relating to job requirements).
-Coaching and supporting hiring managers through the hiring process (negotiations and verbal offer).
-Closing the selected candidates, extending the offers of employment and preparing them for their start of employment.
-Participating in external recruitment functions, including: University career fairs, job fairs, networking cocktails.
-Interfacing with recruitment agencies to source potential candidates.
-Generating reports, statistics.
-Creating interview summaries for each candidate that moves forward in an interview
Qualifications and Experience
-A University degree in a field related to personnel management, such as: Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or Psychology.
-Interviewing or recruiting experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
-Knowledge of legislation pertaining to recruitment.
-Bilingual (English and French).
-Proficient with MS Office.
