Current Opening: Docent and Volunteer Coordinator

The Cultural Centre brings together all cultures and is a location that promotes inclusiveness while also promoting the learning and appreciation of different cultures. The Docent and Volunteer Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Cultural Centre Supervisor and will be responsible for the scheduling and coordinating the work of volunteers as well as ensuring the tours of the Centre are conducted in a professional and effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Schedule and organize volunteers
• Present tours of the Centre to their families and seniors
• Train volunteers on how to present activities, and how to interact with children and adults
• Informally evaluate the activities, suggest improvements and implement changes
• Be creative to suggest and implement new activities

Position Requirements:

• Post-Secondary student specializing in Anthropology, Humanities and/or the Social Sciences
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Location
This position is available in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Salary and Hours of Work

• Compensation $12.50 hour
• This is a full-time summer position (9 weeks, 35 hours) during normal working hours, evenings and weekends may be required.
