Position Highlights

Bring your exceptional knowledge of Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Accreditation Standards to this exciting role, providing leadership and direction for the effective delivery of quality improvement and patient safety services that align with and support the Vision, Values and Strategic Imperatives for Fraser Health (FH). Key areas of involvement include:

  • Oversight of operational goals for the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety portfolio; implement industry best practices; establish organization-wide policies and strategies to promote quality and patient safety; lead design and implementation of systems to monitor organizational performance based on established quality dimensions and key performance measures.

  • Work collaboratively with the Directors, Integrated Risk Management and Infection Prevention and Control to co-lead the integration of quality improvement and patient safety and risk management with Program operations and service delivery.

  • Lead the development and evaluation of a comprehensive Quality Performance Management System to promote accountability for quality and patient safety through monitoring of and accountability for key performance measures by the Clinical Programs, supporting Board governance of quality and patient safety.

  • Establish effective mechanisms for the integration of Accreditation Standards and Required Organizational Practices with Clinical Program quality improvement processes. Establish, sustain and maintain operational accountability for the Patient Care Quality Office in compliance with Ministry of Health Directives, including complaints management processes and tools, education, monitoring and reporting systems to promote complaints resolution and system improvement.

  • Lead FH patient safety event management policy, tools, resources and evidence-based practices, including the Patient Safety and Learning System (PSLS) for patient safety reporting and recommendations management, and methodologies for analysis of harm.

What do you need for this position?

  • Master’s degree in a health profession or health care related field

  • Ten years’ recent related experience working in a health care environment,

  • Five years’ senior management experience in quality improvement and patient safety development, implementation and evaluation.

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety and Accreditation Standards.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Accreditation Canada Qmentum program and required organizational practices and processes.
