Our award-winning food manufacturing industry client is currently recruiting a Food Quality Manager for its processing plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This position requires an energetic and experienced individual with a bias for action to support the explosive growth of the Company. Reporting to the V.P. of Operations, the successful candidate will manage all facets of the Company’s Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilites:
Managing and coaching the Quality Assurance Team while balancing production objectives and customer needs.
Champion the “Quality at the Source” mandate, focusing quality control to point of use.
Provide expert advice on food quality, production and product labeling.
Ensuring the ongoing implementation, maintenance and anticipated requirements of Quality Systems such as BRC (GFSI); HACCP; GMP; and, ISO 9002 within a food manufacturing industry context.
Ensuring the maintenance of appropriate documentation and records pertinent to quality and regulatory compliance for existing and new products.
Ensuring regular audits of plant facilities, suppliers, co-packers and outside warehouses to establish compliance with regulatory requirements and/or to enact the necessary corrective measures as required.
Research, propose, defend, maintain and modify a Quality Control Departmental organizational structure that will ensure the Company’s standards for quality control are maintained.
Providing a key role in designing and providing the necessary training to ensure that Team Members are in scope with regard to all activities affecting quality.
Ensuring that the resources of the Quality Assurance Department are available to provide the support and service to maintain and improve quality, control costs and improve productivity.
Providing advice to management with regard to sanitation, product protection and product control on current and future equipment and facilities.
Ensuring reports concerning product quality and regulatory inspection are provided to the appropriate management personnel on a regular basis, highlighting problems and their resolution.
Embodying a thorough understanding of the Quality Policy Manual and the Systems Procedure Manual.

5+ years of quality management experience in a food production environment.
Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment.
Demonstrated expertise with GMP, HACCP, BRC and Lean principles.
Exceptional analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Post-secondary education related to food science and/or quality will be considered an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
