IT Help DeskDesktop Technician Responsibilities

  • Serving as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • On-site visit to assist with hardware deployment as required

Job brief

We are looking for a competent technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance to our clients in the GTA. You will answer queries on technical and how-to issues and offer advice to solve them.

An excellent technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain the solution. The technician must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers.

The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company’s reputation and business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Helping clients (over the phone, remote support tools, or on-site ) with their technical issues, and keeping detailed notes about what was done.
  • Set up desktops and laptops, as well as install applications and migrate client data, ensuring their comfortable with the new environment
  • Troubleshooting Windows 7810, and network issues
  • Basic knowledge of routers, switches, and printers
  • Maintain inventory and relevant documentation
  • Complete maintenance checklists to upkeep and maintain Windows PC
  • Work with internal and external teams and partners
  • Can work independently but aren’t afraid to ask for help
  • Willing to work outside of normal operating hours when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years hands-on experience in a similar role
  • Must exhibit strength in Soft Skills
  • Possess strong knowledge for Tech Skills
  • Able to carry heavy equipment up and down stairs
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid G driver’s license

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour

Required experience:

  • Desktop Support: 2 years
  • Help Desk: 2 years
