As a Member Service Representative, you will:

• Generate sale referrals by actively promoting and cross-selling products and services to members by analyzing their needs; records all referrals and forwards to the appropriate internal personnel.

• Meet and exceed your sale referral targets.
• Process a variety of cash and non-cash member service transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, money orders, credit card advances, calculations of foreign and domestic exchanges, cheque cashing, and electronic funds transfers.
• Resolve routine problems with member accounts and refers complex questions to the appropriate internal personnel.
• Apply policies and procedures in daily activities to meet safety, legal and privacy requirements.
• Be accountable for area security and internal security audits.
• Balance transactions, vouchers, and cash on a daily basis.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures, including the balancing of branch daily transmittals, central deposits and clearings.
• Act as joint custodian on specified combinations; rents, controls, and provides access to safety deposit boxes; maintains related records.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all credit union products and services in order to foster business development through service excellence and product knowledge.
• Promote and participates in branch campaigns/initiatives.
• Support other team members when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous sales experience required

• Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to identify member needs and referring products and services appropriately
• Previous experience working in a retail environment and handling cash would be an asset
• Fundamental written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn active listening
• Sound interpersonal skills and a team player
