The Firefighters Club is seeking a Sous Chef!

The Firefighters Club at Metrotown has multiple food service outlets, Pub, Banquet Hall and External Catering in one! Located at 6515 Bonsor Ave. Great opportunity for someone to step up their career in a culinary leadership role. You will assist in directing culinary operations on a daily basis under the guidance of the Chef.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Produce and maintain consistent standards of food quality and customer satisfaction

* Ensure that all menu items produced by staff meet the specifications of the recipes provided

* Assist in maintaining all kitchen equipment, repairs and service

* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper rotation of product

* Ensure appropriate safe food handling procedures are in place and followed at all times

* Assist with ordering and inventory

* Assist with maintaining up to date station pars, station prep lists, and temperature logs

* Maintain standardized closing duties, ensuring these are completed daily

* Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

* Management experience is an asset but not necessary if you’ve done your time in good kitchens and are ready for the next step in your career.

* Must have a comprehensive food knowledge and an ability to teach. You must be a fast line cook and a fast at prep

* Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues with staff and/or suppliers

* A demonstrated passion for food, people, and the restaurant industry

* Excellent kitchen skills, knife skills and the ability to lead/call the line and work a station in a busy restaurant

* Self-starter, flexible and the ability to multi-task

* Excellent communication skills

* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize

* Attention to detail

* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
