This role is responsible for financial reporting duties and technically overseeing the full accounting cycle with the exception of credit.

Job Description:Major Job Functions:
Financial Reporting – The financial reporting responsibilities pertain to both internal and external parties. The main duties include the month end close and reporting as well as general ledger maintenance. Included in the financial reporting process is the review of the reconciliations and journal entries that need to be posted which are prepared by the other accounting staff. Their month end duties are reviewed and ensured to be accurate
Cash forecasting and management – bank reconciliation review, payment review and investment journal entries
AP – provide guidance and support to the AP function as well as payment approval and review
Review payroll, commissions, benefit and vacation accrual transactions and related entries
Support and review of intercompany transactions and reconciliation
Support of quarterly and year end audits with external auditors – This involves the preparation of working papers, discussions with the audit team and coordination with Finning Finance to accurately present findings
Key liaison with the business for transactional queries
Leadership of Staff – support for the day-to-day leadership of a staff of (3), including coaching and mentoring, performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities

Professional Accounting Designation
Canadian GAAP and IFRS
External Audit experience/exposure
Budget and forecasting experience
Bill 198 Segregation of Duties & Internal Controls

Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience

Accurate and timely financial reporting, including meeting internal deadlines and reporting deadlines to Finning Canada
Effective management to direct reports
