Working closely with Sourcing, Marketing and Operations, the Product Manager will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. With a focus on new product development and increasing the value proposition of existing products, the Product Manager will ensure margin targets and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. Drawing on the vision in the Brand Strategy the Product Manager will develop a long term product roadmap that defines product positioning, core product benefits and innovation platforms that build loyalty with our target customers.


  • Responsible for development of the relevant Product Line Plans including SKU detail, cost targets preliminary forecasting, and key features/benefits
  • Develop and maintain a detailed critical path/product development timeline
  • Oversee line rationalization that meets or exceeds business targets
  • Manage the product design priorities on a seasonal basis
  • Recommend and pursue line extensions where appropriate
  • Review sales and margin data to scorecard product performance against forecast
  • Lead a cross-functional team to execute on-time product launches
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product specification sheets
  • Coordinate with QA/QC departments to ensure appropriate product control measures (including regulatory compliance) are in place
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to Sourcing on vendor performance
  • Work with marketing to develop product presentations and other collateral as requested
  • Develop product instruction manuals where required


  • Must have a passion for business and the outdoors
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of study
  • 3-5 years of prior product management experience in the outdoor sporting goods industry
  • Demonstrated leadership and success in launching new products
  • Strong organization skills and an ability to effectively prioritize demands to meet deadlines
  • Team player who can work effectively in cross-functional groups or independently
  • Ability to travel
