Position Description:

The Analyst will work closely with the Associate and Vice President, Real Estate, as well as senior executives in the Company, and play a supporting role in analysing, structuring, executing, and managing Real Estate transactions/investments and divestitures within a fund mandate. Additionally, the Analyst will work collaboratively with their peers to undertake research and diligence activities with the objective of identifying investment opportunities for the Firm.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Associate and Vice President, Real Estate, to identify potential investment opportunities and manage investment funds.
  • Lead underwriting, acquisition and due diligence process, including the generation of financial proformas and the review and analysis of market fundamentals.
  • Support acquisition, partnership, and financing agreements including carriage of negotiating associated legal documentation related to potential investments.
  • Support existing projects and associated partnership relationships to enhance operating performance of individual investments and funds. Represent Firm’s objectives in partnership meetings and advance development projects through entire investment cycle.
  • Construct return and cash flow projections and establish modelling assumptions in developing investment viewpoint.
  • Development models to determine asset valuation and investment returns in support of external client reporting requirements.
  • Provide general investment management support; including return and cash flow impact analysis of market fluctuations on individual investments and funds, and interpret financial information to evaluate operating results
  • Work with Asset Management team to prepare strategies for monetizing existing investments, and coordinate execution of these strategies
  • Ensure compliance of potential and current investments with real estate mandates

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of analytical experience in investment environment; preference given to candidates with specific knowledge and experience in real estate.
  • Undergraduate degree in commerce, finance, economics, accounting, actuarial science, engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
  • CA, CFA, MBA or equivalent post-graduate education, and other relevant professional designations are considered an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in financial analysis and modelling, with emphasis on acquisition, development, and financing activities.
  • Developing business acumen and judgment including negotiation skills and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with emphasis on relationship building skills with lenders, developers, brokers, technical advisors, and legal advisors.
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, maintaining attention to detail
