Hotel Overview:
Having recently completed a $75M lobby to roof renovation, Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac is poised to being recognized as one of the best hotels in the world. Adding 15,000 square feet of new meeting space (for a grand total of 40,000 square feet), a new Fairmont Gold, three new restaurants and the new Spa du Chateau, Le Chateau, with its 611 guest rooms and suites, is ideally located within the walls of Old Québec, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Develop and coordinate the public relations program for the hotel locally, nationally and internationally

Create promotional material

Produce and distribute hotel press releases

Act as official spokesperson for the hotel

Develop strong relationship with media as well as with tourism industry partners

Develop new partnership and program within the community

Develop and maintain a contact list

Maintain list of media coverage and create monthly report of activities

Organize press tours and visits with medias

Answer all media questions from our corporate office, agencies and media

Launch promotions and manage specific events

Promote social and environmental initiatives

Participation on the sustainability committee

Work jointly with the Director, Sales & Marketing in order to promote and maximize marketing program in specific market

Be an active member of the Internet Marketing team to ensure strong visibility of the hotel in social medias

Manage the reputation of the hotel on different website such as Trip Advisor and TrustYou

Coordinate crisis management program and ensure the efficiency of communications during crisis

Participate in the development of innovative ideas for packages in conjunction with the department of Sales & Marketing

Complete all application files as required (Grand Prix du Tourisme, Fidéides, etc.)

Assist any others departments if needed,

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
3 to 5 years of experience in public relations/communication

University degree in communication, marketing or hotel management

Strong communication skills (orally and written) in French and in English

Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and any other software of image processing

Strong knowledge of social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Highly creative and organized

Capable of working flexible hours and to travel occasionally

Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
