Receiving Clerk (temporary)

To actively support the Receiving Team in an adminstrative function and ensure all goods, services and materials purchased by the Hotel are received as per the purchase order issued: Correct spcification and cost, giving consideration to quality and timeliness of deliveries while maintaining SOX and internal control procedures.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Physical receiving of all goods purchased by the hotel according to the purchase order issued, receiving standards and SOX compliance
  • Ensure product quality meets hotel standards
  • Post all invoices in Food-trak or Purchasing Manager as appropriate, approving for payment
  • Communicate and follow-up on all outstanding order
  • Investigate and resolve any receiving discrepancies
  • Track returns and post all credits in BirchStreet or CASD as appropriate
  • Compile daily receiving report for Food, Beverage and Non-food receipts
  • Communicate goods received to requesting department
  • Ensure security of hotel assets while in Hotel Receiving and secured after-hours
  • Report elevator service requirements
  • Coordinate deliveries and vendor parking when required
  • Filing and other administrative requirements
  • Additional duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Enrolled/graduated from Hotel Management or related degree
  • General Knowledge of food and beverage products, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and other Windows based applications
  • Ability to multi task in a busy work environment
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong command of English anguage both written and verbal

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Lifting up to 20KG, pushing up to 50kg

Visa Requirements: Must already be legally permitted to work in Canada.
