Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Starbucks Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Providing fast, efficient, friendly and individualized guest service
Working in a team atmosphere to provide memorable service experiences
Displaying professional behaviour, integrity, pride, and loyalty
Being able to work well under pressure in a fast paced high volume environment
Cash handling and maintaining a proper float balance as outlined in our accounting policy
Preparing espresso and tea beverages to Starbucks standards
Maintaining a clean and welcoming guest dining area and outlet
Assisting in daily Food and Beverage inventory management & control
Resolving guest concerns and responding to requests in a quick and helpful manner
Promoting professional work habits
Ensuring the best quality in coffee
Understand and operating the Point of Sales System
Understand and operating the Starbucks equipment
Contribute to the achievement of outlet goals and generate return business
Being responsible and promoting the safety and security of all colleagues and guests
Enforcing a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues by upholding the safety rules provided by the department & hotel
Adhering to safety and sanitation standards as outlines by the Public Health Department
Ensuring equipment is clean and in good working condition and reporting any deficiencies
Incorporating Fairmont Raffles Hotels International Service Promise , Service Essentials and Values in daily interaction with internal and external guests
Contributing to the foundation that is based on great teamwork, communication and initiative
Being flexible with scheduled shifts. This includes being prepared to work early morning, afternoon or late night shifts
Prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously and by the end of your shift
Participating in ongoing learning opportunities and enhancing your skills, abilities and professionalism for personal growth and development
Acting as an ambassador for The Fairmont Palliser and our colleagues and the Fairmont Raffles Hotel International brand
Understanding and adhering to all Fairmont Raffles Hotels International company policies, procedure and standards
Taking responsibility and initiative to make decisions in the best interest of your team, outlet and hotel
Qualifications:
High School diploma
Previous Starbucks experience is an asset
Previous cash handling experience
Passion for food and beverage including specialty coffees
Show commitment to product knowledge of both food and beverage items including specialty coffees
Post secondary diploma or degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is an asset
Must be a dynamic, team oriented individual
Basic food handling experience
Attention to detail and focus on outcome of decisions
Enjoy working with the public
Good communication skills and a good command of the English language is a must
Must work well under pressure & posses excellent interpersonal skills
Previous cash handling experience is an asset
Must be able to work very effectively in a low supervised environment
Must adapt to a flexible schedule including working the early mornings
Previous high-volume and fast paced restaurant experience is an asset
Experience with decision – making and problem solving
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for majority of shift
Must be able to lift and carry weight loads of up to 25 lbs
Rate of Pay:
$15.25 per hour
Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
