The Opportunity

My south side client is looking for a part time Systems Administrator to work 20 hours a week during business hours. This role will provide customer support and be the back up and over flow support for the full time System Admin. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to help out team members wherever needed, have excellent customer service skills and be able to commit to a regular schedule of part time work. My client offers flexibility to how the 20 hours are broken down in the week and just requests that a schedule can be set for consistency in service.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

• Work with users providing support and troubleshooting on IT issues
• Support and administer system hardware, database, software, network and IP based phone systems
• Analyze help desk issue trends and devise proactive and preventative solutions
• Develop and maintain service desk reports for identifying service level compliance
• Manage and configuration of firewalls and security appliances
• Maintain and configure web servers and manage security and software installations.
• Monitor backup systems to ensure they are functioning properly .
• Maintain and create system documentation

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Completion of related post secondary program
• 3+ years experience in a network admin role
• Experience with VM Ware vSphere EZXi 5.x
• Strong Windows and/or Unix Server experience
• Ability to commit to a regular 20 hour schedule during business hours
• Looking for long term employment
• Related MS, CCNA, and VMware certification preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Up to $35,000 annually
