(Part-Time)

Varying shifts including but not limited to Fridays and Sundays

Executive Flight Centre (EFC) has been setting standards in aviation fuel and service for over forty years. Headquartered in Calgary, with operations in both Alberta and British Columbia, EFC offers a diverse range of aviation services to meet the needs of airport users. EFC also offers additional expertise and services to customers throughout Western Canada in the areas of Airport / Aerodrome Services and Aviation Real Estate Development. Our Calgary terminal location is seeking an experienced Security & Screening Agent to support our diverse operations for a part-time position. Required shifts vary and include but are not limited to; Fridays and Sundays.

Main Functions:

The Security & Screening Agent works to ensure the safety and protection of EFC’s property, personnel and information.

Responsibilities:

  • Traffic and taxi/shuttle monitoring.
  • Access Control for the facility/area.
  • Patrol inside and outside of all EFC Facilities via fixed post, foot, vehicle, and roving patrol.
  • Operate computers, radios, phones.
  • Ensure that the Facility’s Safety and Emergency Procedures are followed in response to Fire Alarms and other Site Emergencies.
  • Undertake site specific training, follow direction and guidance from Site Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate judgment, common sense and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.
  • Observation, record keeping and report writing.
  • Detect or prevent thefts and vandalism as required.
  • Demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety consciousness in the workplace.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure exceptional, courteous and respectful customer service through compliance and participation in the Company’s Step Up to Customer Service Program.
  • Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of High school diploma.
  • Previous security experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry in a similar role would be an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR would be an asset.
  • Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident as defined in the Immigration Act with an employment authorization document.
  • Airport Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
  • Solicitor General Alberta Security Services License.
  • Have own transportation or access to public transit.
  • Able to identify colors, shapes, forms and features (e.g. X-Ray images)
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license is required – No Graduated Driver’s License permitted.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous Record Keeping, Report Writing, Observation skills.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work various weekday, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Able to stand and/or sit for an extended period of time.
  • Able to bend, squat or kneel to perform searches.
  • Able to reach above/below level of shoulders.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work with the public and deal with conflict resolution.
  • A positive and professional attitude.
  • Able to work within a structured and highly regulated environment.
  • Able to provide accurate written reports.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent.
  • Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
