Electricity Operations is responsible for the electrical transmission and distribution systems in the City of Edmonton, with a focus on safety, reliability, and innovative and practical solutions. Our employees look after electrical infrastructure as well as the underground and aerial distribution networks. Brief Description
Electricity Operations, Shared Services group has opportunities for up to three temporary (up to 90 days only) Storeman to join the Warehouse/Yard Team for the Summer.
Note: Preference for positions will be given to current post-secondary students. Detailed Description
Reporting to the Manager, Warehousing the Storeman position is accountable for, but not limited to:
Providing input into the plans and directions of the Manager, Warehousing and ensuring that on-going appropriate relationships are maintained with other team members.
Processing sales orders into the Inventory Management system.
Receiving stock and non-stock items including the physical receiving and entry into the Inventory Management system.
Coordinating the pre-picking and delivery of materials to site.
Transferring materials to other EPCOR sites.
Conducting physical counts of materials.
Operating stand-up forklift
Picking and handling of materials.
Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics, including:
Cycle Count Accuracy
Housekeeping
Picking Accuracy
Completing other day to day Warehouse area duties as required. Job Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 diploma or G.E.D. (or equivalent).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service role.
Able to use hand tools and ladders in accordance with EPCOR safety standards.
Able to meet the physical demands required of this position (regular lifting of up to 45 lbs.). Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug & alcohol testing will be required.
Clearance on a security background and professional references checks will be required.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A copy of a valid work permit may be required.
In addition to the requirements listed above, these following experience and/or knowledge will be considered highly valued assets for you to possess:
Ability to drive indoor forklifts
Additional education in inventory or supply chain management

Experience:
In a receiving role
Working with Oracle Inventory or a similar inventory or materials management system
Working and knowledge of Basic Materials Management practices in both a Yard and Warehouse

The successful applicant must possess keen attention to detail, exercise educated decision making and judgment skills, and demonstrate a safety-conscious attitude. This position requires one to take ownership and demonstrate initiative by achieving objectives on time and to defined standards, as well as communicating when not able to meet deadlines. This is a unionized position under International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local#1007 (IBEW1007). As part of the union you are required to pay Union Dues and these are deducted from your pay each pay period. The Class code is SS2 (0330) with a starting wage of $24.53 (Step A) per hour. Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in the CA that may be found online.

Hours of work: 8 hours per day between the hours of 0700h – 1800h, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. However, in accordance with Article 6.01.01.02 of the Agreement, the work week may be any 5 consecutive days – Wages and conditions of work as per collective agreement . NOTE: Some overtime work may be required.
