We are seeking a Senior Financial Advisor within our Valley First region at our Rutland Branch location.

The Senior Financial Advisor plays a key role in the delivery of exceptional financial service to each member. This role builds lasting long-term business relationships and a referral network by developing trust and providing personalized financial service to meet member needs. Through creating and updating member profiles, this role analyzes which financial solutions would be suitable to the member to help them reach their goals

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day:
Consult with members personally to assess financial and investment needs, analyzing and matching products and fund investment solutions with member needs and risk tolerance capacity. Identify and recommend financial investment alternatives for members.

Provide personal deposit, conventional and non-conventional retail lending suitable to members using the appropriate “Relationship Management Tools.” This involves all aspects of the lending process including underwriting, risk mitigation, credit analysis and proper due diligence.

Advise members on fund investment products and recommend products that will help them reach their goals. Open Qtrade Asset Management Accounts, complete “Know Your Client” documentation, and purchase appropriate investments as directed by the members ensuring copies of all documents are maintained in the member file.

Prepare investment, loan, new account and all other files according to established policies and legislative guidelines. Keep files up to date for auditing purposes.

Meet portfolio growth targets by following up with members to ensure expectations are met or exceeded; plan and implement prospecting activities for sales opportunities within the portfolio.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years lending experience including being able to adjudicate on lending

decisions

Successfully complete MFIS annual exam or Canadian Securities Course

Completed course 204 (Risk Management and Estate Planning) of the Certified Financial

Planner curriculum

Commit to completing a minimum of 5 General and 10 Technical CE credits per year

Fully competent in lending and investments with an advanced knowledge of mutual fund
