Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Project Coordinator student will be responsible to support co-ordination and support of engineering projects with a primary focus on Utility Engineering.
This is a 12 months PEY opportunity reporting to our headquarters in Toronto, ON and is due to start in June or July 2015, depending on availability. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and enter data into a tracker spreadsheets
Track quality audits details using automated system, supplement monthly reports with root cause analysis reports, productivity and trending
Develop, revise and maintain Quality Assurance checklist(s) as assigned by Quality Manager
Update Quality boards and SharePoint with necessary monthly information
Review manuals, procedures and policies for necessary updates
Develop and maintain Quality Control records and Certification files including QC Core Plan and Appendices
Assist the Quality Manger with creating Quality Plans and Manuals, and procedures
Revise CAD drawings for Special Projects
Provide Management with data and project analysis
Track productivity, costs and progress on projects
Liaise with and inform Utilities on project schedule
Monitor progress and assist in the provision of job cost reports to management on active projects
Provide data and input for month-end reconciliation
Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects
Provide technical support to field staff
Assist in the coordination, preparation and submission of as-built drawings and design drawings
Assist in the preparation, review, maintenance and approval of Engineering drawings and related documents
Gather field information and assist in the preparation of project bill of materials
Assist in the preparation of detailed construction and design estimates
Liaise with clients, contractors and internal departments
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering Student
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals
Proven ability to utilize current technologies, i.e. computer skills
Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
Strong problem solving skills
AutoCAD skills would be an asset
