Responsibilities

As a Land summer student at ConocoPhillips Canada you will be placed in our summer Land Program. This program will ensure the student gains experience in a variety of areas. It will include the following components:

  • The program will provide individuals with a concentration in Petroleum Land Management with exposure to the Land functions in an active exploration and production company. We will provide an overview of the industry, Land and the relationship between it and other disciplines in the Corporation.
  • Students will be given the opportunity to understand the functions of Business Development, Surface Access, Stakeholder Engagement and Community Affairs and how their activity impacts the business cycle. This t will include field trips to production facilities and drilling operations.
  • Additionally, students will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Contracts and Mineral Lease Administration Teams and a working knowledge of tools such as CS Explorer, Accumap, GeoScout and ARC GIS. Participants will be given specific project assignments where they can apply the knowledge gained through this program. The participants will also be given the opportunity to work on a group project relevant to their work at ConocoPhillips and they will present their findings to the ConocoPhillips Land Leadership Team at the end of their work term.

The above Program will provide participants with a unique opportunity to work and learn within a company with a fast-paced environment, an active drilling program and worldwide operations.

The successful candidates will join our Land team based in Calgary, Alberta for a work term from May to August 2015
