About EPL

At EPL, we quantify changes to the use of our earth’s resources, so we can help our clients make better decisions for our world.

We help our clients improve both their environmental performance and their bottom line while at the same time providing independent, impartial strategic guidance. Our clients include some of the largest public and private companies in Canada, collectively representing approximately 2.5% of national electricity use.

We have built our reputation on doing things really well . We have a bright, talented, and engaging team with a lot of passion for what we do: helping large energy users across North America reduce their energy/carbon footprints and quantifying energy costs.

The Role

Recent and projected growth has led us to search for a high energy professional to join the Building Analytics Team at our Calgary or Vancouver offices. The person will join us at a time where we are experiencing outstanding company growth. A steep learning curve is anticipated. Key aspects of the role:

  • Drive down energy use intensity at large commercial properties as part of our Building Analytics Team, ideally while enhancing the livability and health of these same facilities.
  • Energy conservation studies and audits at large commercial buildings.
  • Measurement and Verification (M&V) of energy and demand savings projects.
  • Submetering system design and specifications.
  • Studies/analysis related to submeter cost allocation and data analytics.

About You

We seek an intelligent person with strong problem-solving skills capable of handling a wide variety of technical challenges. High energy levels and a team-based approach are of great value; just as important is a determination to overcome obstacles. Above all, this person should look to establish and maintain a reputation for integrity over the long term.

Nominally, we seek an engineering graduate. Applicants in Engineering Physics, Math and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering will be given special consideration.

2-4 years of consulting industry experience delivering a range of energy conservation and building optimization services; energy audits, M&V plans and/or verifications, and building performance and emissions reporting.

A level of expertise leading or contributing to LEED-EB, BOMA BEST & Energy Star certification and recertification projects for large commercial properties.

Demonstrated experience as a valued member of a successful team is beneficial.

It is important that the applicant can communicate clearly and efficiently. As we have clients across Canada and the US, fluency in French would be an asset, but is not mandatory.

What to expect - People are the most important part of our company.
