Performs duties associated with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the pipeline, Right-of-Way and related facilities.

  • Perform all duties within applicable regulations, a high regard for safety and protection of the environment.
  • Provide emergency response support as required to address any pipeline emergencies.
  • RESPONSIBILTIES

    • Ensures all work is in compliance with Company Safety, Environmental and Operating procedures
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing a safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive service that meets their needs
    • Directs, organizes and supervises PLM activities necessary to perform planned maintenance Capital Projects and Emergency response
    • Maintains a good working relationship with all landowners and government agencies along the ROW
    • Assures an appropriate level of emergency preparedness through regular training and maintained equipment and ongoing communication with Emergency Services along the ROW
    • Assure all permits and safety checks are completed on an annual basis on Company vehicles and work equipment
    • Administration duties to be completed as required
    • Quality assurance and education, knowledge of the provincial/federal codes and standards
    • Ability to step-up into the Coordinator role in the Coordinator’s absence where required.
    • Provides effective assistance in emergency response activities including containment, repair and cleanup.
    • Provides support for other pipeline integrity programs (pigging, piping upgrades, sleeving, etc.).
    • Interacts with other departments and Stakeholders as required to maintain an efficient and effective level of service for the protection of all pipeline assets in the operating region. Ensures all work is in compliance with Company safety, environmental and operating procedures.
    • Ensures all First Calls, third party crossings, and locate requests are handled/marked promptly, accurately, and safety.
    • Assures that proper documentation is completed in all aspects of work as required. (Driving, safety, excavation, QC, equipment, PM, Maximo, etc.).
    • Assists with QC documentation as required following completion of all work projects.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Mix of office and field, with frequent travels along the right of way and to various stations
    • Hours of work vary depending on the workload, Emergency Response, Capital Projects and line schedules
    • Extended hours as required
    • On Call as required (typically ~6 weeks per year)
    • Medium to high level stress at times during critical instances
    • Mandatory training requirements completed both internal and external
    • Extreme weather conditions

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
    • Four-plus years of related experience in pipeline repair and maintenance
    • Emergency Response training and knowledge
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Welding, hoisting & rigging knowledge will be considered an asset
    • Class 1A driver license required will be considered an asset
    • Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
