As Senior Structural Engineer with our client, a well-established Consulting Engineering firm,

    Your responsibilities will include:


    • Serve as a strong Structural Engineering Professional and technical representative of the Regina office. Develop co-operative working relationships with clients, building owners, architects, contractors, engineers, sub-trades and representatives of the business and construction community.

    • Coach and mentor junior engineers, technical and support staff to ensure a high level of accuracy, consistency and professionalism. Positively influence and enhance the work culture and processes to promote a productive, motivated team environment.
    • Work closely with engineering and technical staff within the firm’s multi-disciplinary team. Actively seek innovation in work processes and synergies between disciplines to enhance efficiencies.
    • Provide business development and leadership skills to increase market share, build and promote the Regina office capabilities as a highly skilled Engineering firm. Actively represent and build the expertise of the Regina operations, to establish new projects and clients for the company.


    • Provide structural engineering design and innovative solutions for commercial, institutional, multi-family building projects located in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. Projects include office buildings, educational, healthcare and financial institutions, multi-family units, senior residences and related structures.

    • Attend client meetings and develop strong working relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers. Participate in project planning, schematics, proposal writing (RFP), developing project scope, schedules and cost estimates. Provide recommendations and feedback to clients regularly.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations and building assessments. Prepare engineering reports and strategies for modification, repair or replacement of structures.
    • Prepare specifications, contract documents, project budgets, construction cost estimates and schedules. Supervise and/or assist Technical staff with the preparation of drawings and other construction documents.
    • Provide engineering field services . Coordinate and monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications, budget and project schedule. Resolve current or potential problems that may arise on the job site. Conduct site inspections, administer contracts, change orders and price requests as appropriate.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a Structural major.
    • Eligible for registration, or registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Saskatchewan, Canada.


    • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in the structural design of commercial and institutional building projects (i.e. experience with steel, reinforced concrete, wood and masonry structures).
    • Experience and knowledge of building technology, applicable codes, construction detailing and working drawing production.
    • Experience with design, specifications, cost estimating, tendering, construction administration, and inspections.
    • Business management and supervisory experience is an asset.
    • Knowledge/experience in cold weather construction is preferred; familiar with prairie climatic design and culture.


    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Working knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD is desired, as well as experience with design modeling software.
