Position: OVERNIGHT BELL PERSON

Department: FRONT OFFICE

Report to: Front Office Supervisor/ bell Captain

Hours: As required

Primary Function: The Bell Department delivers both the first and last impression to each guest who visits the Lodge. As such, the Bell team are ambassadors for Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts. This role is responsible for ensuring all guests are well-cared for during the arrival and departure processes, providing efficient and outstanding customer service. This is an overnight position with shifts from 11pm to 7am

Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport guests and luggage by shuttle bus to and from the Main Lodge

Check luggage and assist Front Desk to perform guest check-ins/check-outs when required, as well as answer the phone at the Desk at various times throughout the day

Provide guests with information about service facilities, the area, and local attractions

Deliver special requests to guest rooms (wood, room service, wine, etc.)

Assist the Conference team with set-up and tear-down of functions

Respond to fire alarms occurring on Property and giving status updates to the Front Desk

Must be fully-trained in emergency procedures as they relate to the Lodge

Keep the Lodge vehicles, the Bell Hut, and the guest washrooms clean

Communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner

Monitor driving habits and adhere to safety rules and road regulations

Aid with snow-clearing in the winter

Ensure supplies are on hand for the Bell team

Carry out regular security checks and respond to noise/disturbance complaints in guest rooms

Perform daily vehicle inspections and refuel as needed

Perform basic maintenance duties as needed

Arrive on time and groomed appropriately, as per CRMR Employee Handbook

Requirements/Experience:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

A passion for customer service; previous experience is an asset

Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record; must be willing to obtain a Class 4 driver’s license

Organized and people-focused

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required

Must be able to work independently and remain calm in the event of an emergency

Physical demands; sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 60 lbs)
